Carolina has several trade chips, including non-lottery first-round picks and promising prospects like Kurban Limatov, Bradly Nadeau, Dominik Badinka, Felix Unger-Sörum, and Nikita Artamonov. It's challenging to imagine any team resisting adding a player like Nikishin to their defensive core for the next several years or more.

The Hurricanes desperately need a star forward to elevate their game. While Sebastian Aho is a solid player, adding a true star player would propel the team to a higher tier. Robert Thomas of the St. Louis Blues appears to be the ideal candidate.
